This thesis focuses, as a research subject, on stakeholder management in mega construction projects executed in Greece. Under this framework, this thesis aims to improve stakeholder management and to bridge potential gaps in the implemented means and methods of stakeholder management. The research questions are, initially, the challenges that arise from the existing stakeholder management framework and how the lessons learned can be of advantage so to be used to meet the needs of similar projects in the future. The research goal is to analyze the influencing factors of a mega construction project, thus helping to manage stakeholders more efficiently in each project phase of a future project. In the research methodology (chapter 3), the research approach will be presented that is used to obtain the results. The results are then analyzed and categorized into nineteen codes and then into three categories (i) skills, (ii) influencing factors, (iii) improvement methods of stakeholder management. Subsequently, actions for stakeholder management are proposed based on the analysis of the lessons learned for the projects examined. Finally, based on the challenges identified, the conclusions formulate a framework for stakeholder management focusing on the skills and training of project managers and influencing factors by project phase. In addition, methods of stakeholder management were identified and proposed considering the current state of mega construction projects in Greece.
