COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge in respect to methods and tools associated with the monitoring and controlling of projects from their inception to completion. Students study a broad set of inter-related theoretical concepts and practical processes across the project lifecycle, including: project schedules and management; project costing and tracking; project quality plans and compliance; scope control; stakeholder relationship management; risk control; project communications; performance management; project monitoring, auditing and reporting; and process improvement.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Exhibit advanced understandings on project monitoring and control processes as required during typical project lifecycles.
  • Think critically and use project control principles to analyse complex problems.
  • Work effectively in teams producing the required knowledge and skills outputs.
